WHATS IT ABOUT?
The first is VISITING HOURS from 1981. Starring William Shatner, Michael Ironside and Lee Grant. Grant plays as Deborah Ballin, a TV commentator and feminist activist, who is taking down the corrupt elite. Serial killer Colt Hawker (Ironside) is a vicious misogynistic psychopath and blames her for his failures. He attacks her, but she survives and is sent to County General Hospital. Her the nightmares begin. Aided by a producer (William Shatner), she sets out to expose and eventually stop him in his tracks.
WHY SHOULD WE WATCH IT FOR HALLOWEEN?
Its a bit overlong but it is exciting and satisfying in multiple ways.
WHAT SHOULD WE LOOK OUT FOR?
The cut (sic) and thrust of the drama, a darkly prescient comment on the debate about gender today. With the rise in patriarchal and anti feminist organisations, this film can be both seen as a straight horror film and a comment on America and its bigger issues.

When medicine goes wrong! Ian Smith ( Harold Bishop from NEIGHBOURS to anyone who doesn’t know) plays as a scientist with a new drug for sale. Its the ultimate in fitness and helps to burn those pounds. Of course, side effects are rare but the reported ones are tiredness, nausea, vomiting and BODY MELT! Yes that is right, skin, organs and all, melting away! A genuine Ozploitation classic It makes human guinea pigs of an Ozzie neighbourhood but they will not remain good friends!

Mutated bodies, oozing fluids and flesh melting. All dealt with a touch of sardonic humour – BODY MELT is the sort of film to get anyone involved in a joyfully silly Halloween with a bit of bite.
