Crazy, Stupid, Love producer Denise Di Novi told ComingSoon.net that she’s developing an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast alongside Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) and that Harry Potter star, Emma Watson is lined up to star in the picture.
Del Toro’s next film, Pacific Rim involves giant monsters traveling through a vortex in the pacific rim where they attack major cities and humans must battle them by using mecha suits called Jaegers. He comments,”This is my most un-modest film, this has everything. The scale is enormous and I’m just a big kid having fun.” The film is about to head into production with a cast that includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Rinko Kikuchi.
Emma Watson can currently been seen in the world record-breaking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and can next be seen in My Week With Marilyn later this year and The Perks of Being a Wallflower in 2012.
There are few further details about Beauty and the Beast at the moment.
So it looks like Emma Watson already has some opportunities arisen since the end of Harry Potter? And what of Radcliffe and Grint? What I have to ask if for how long we are going to see these actors after the dust has settled. I think in their own rights, they all have really great features as actors (especially Radcliffe in Equus and Grint in Driving Lessons) but I hope they don’t disappear anytime soon.
