Audition Blu-ray Review

a3Auditioning for a new movie, Shigharu Aoyama has just seen hundreds of faces and all of them the same bland droll. That is until he meets Asami, a young and softly spoken woman that is a mystery to him and us…

a2Well J Horror has a few massive markers. These markers identify great films or films that changed the audiences expectation. This film is one of those that not only introduced us to Takashi Miike but also the brutal, subversive, torture elements for films in the sub genre. Audition is a solid gold film for its story telling, violent fever dream mastery. Is it worth watching? Of course it is. It leaves you in a state of horror and disturbance.  It has great performances and great visual horrors.

a1The discs are excellent. They have great transfers, sound and the superb Audio commentary. The box art is great and I loved it…loved it…
