Ticket Offer – Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder @ BFI Southbank, Until Dec 2014

The re-release of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey coincides with the BFI’s Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder season, a nationwide celebration of film and television’s original blockbuster genre, screening from November 28th. Check out the new trailer, updated for the re-release.

Other BFI Southbank highlights range from James Cameron’s The Terminator to Ridley Scott’s classic, Blade Runner: The Final Cut. For the more light hearted there’s a rare screening of outrageous trans sci-fi Dandy Dust plus a chance to see camp classic Barbarella in all its colourful glory on the big screen! Family screenings include ET and the unforgettable Flash Gordon, complete with ravishing costumes and set designs and it’s “Queen” music score. In December we’re looking forward to screening Star Wars Episodes IV – VI in a special Star Wars Day, arguably the definitive space opera.

A number of screenings will be accompanied by talks such as Jet Propelled Cinema: How Psychedelia Infected Hollywood Sci-Fi – where we reflect on how the avant-garde West Coast art scene influenced the look of many sci-fi films.

TICKET OFFER:
