This weekend see the launch of the first ever large-scale outdoor cinematic event at Jodrell Bank Observatory, home to one of the largest radio telescopes in the world, and the UK centre for research in pulsars and space exploration.
Watch the Skies! will capture man-kinds drive to explore and exploit new frontiers, featuring classic science fiction films screened under the night sky, alongside two exclusive world premieres and commissions from Soup Collective and Oneohtrix Point Never.
From the early evening there will be sci-fi centered Science Fair, delivered by the astrophysicists native to Jodrell Bank and specialists from The University of Manchester, followed by a series of stunning audiovisual projections onto the legendary Lovell telescope before our spectacular outdoor cinema takes centre stage.
Working with our partners at Jodrell Bank and Live from Jodrell Bank Transmissions we’ll create an unforgettable night for all you cult film fanatics and science fiction lovers.
