The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Opening Soon

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is going to be the name of a new themepark. Created by Warner Brothers and Universal Studios its set for a grand opening on 18th June 2010.

It will be a standalone theme park within Universal Studios, Florida. Complete with Hogwarts Castle, the village of Hogsmeade, and many other attractions it will be built within the Islands of Adventure.

There are some amazing concept artwork around the net now. Well worth having a look at if you are a Potter fan.

Here is an image that has just been released of the centrepiece of the park – Hogwarts Castle

If you want to see some more – check out this video that has been made during the construction of the new park.

There has also been talk recently of converting all of the Harry Potter films to 3D! The HP franchise looks set to run and run enough once the films have all been made. I expect some sort of Star Wars style rebranding and re-selling as often as possible over the next 20 years.

According to some reports Harry is in some trouble with the BBFC. After viewing an early screener of the Deathly Hallows film, the BBFC have warned that the new Harry Potter film could offend! They are concerned that in its current form it will need an 18 rating for its UK release.
