Joe Pesci joins Gotti film; Lindsay Lohan in talks

Joe Pesci has joined Gotti: Three Generations as Angelo Ruggiero, a close friend to John Gotti, Snr., it was announced in New York this morning.

Pesci, who did not attend the press conference, released a statement that reads, “I’m really happy to be making this picture with my good friend [director] Nick Cassavetes … It’s going to be a great experience and a rare opportunity to look inside the life of Gotti.”

Pesci joins John Travolta, who was already on board for the project as “The Dapper Don”. Quoted by The Hollywood Reporter, Travolta said, “This is probably the most interesting untold story in this country.”

Also in attendance at the conference was Lindsay Lohan, who producers confirm is in talks to play Victoria Gotti, John Snr.’s daughter, next to whom she sat in the audience this morning.

Gotti: Three Generations is produced and financed by Marc Fiore‘s Fiore Films and is set for a late 2012 release. Filming is scheduled to begin this October.
