Bridesmaids Sequel

Since Bridesmaids is shaping up to be the biggest female-driven comedy to hit our screens since Sex and the City, it’s only right that there’s already speculation surrounding a sequel in the pipeline.

Following the unprecedented box-office success of this unconventional ‘chick-flick’, director Paul Feig has been talking eagerly of his desire for a second helping. Speaking exclusively to Movieline, he said: “It’s not officially been moved toward, but I’d be very open to it. It would just have to be as good or better than this one. What you don’t want to do is the one that ruins the memory of the first one. But nothing would make me happier if we could make another one with this amazing cast.”

With Knocked Up’s Judd Apatow producing the film, Saturday Night Live comedian Kristen Wiig writing the script and a stellar female cast, it was no surprise that Bridesmaids was crowned the top R-Rated comedy of all time. And having grossed $26,247,410 on its opening weekend alone, it could be a smart move for Universal to commission another hilarious addition.
