Bond 23 Delayed

The next James Bond film has been delayed, making it another casualty in the fall of MGM Studios. The 23rd Bond film was due for a 2011/12 release date, which is now very unlikely.

Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions released this statement: “Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on Bond 23 indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of the film.”

But don’t worry Bond fans, Daniel Craig is sure to be back swigging cocktails at some point thanks to the franchise’s money-making capabilities and iconic status. Whoever takes over MGM would be mad not to continue 007 adventures, and with Sam Mendes signed on to direct the next one, Bond 23 is already shaping up well.
