Wednesday 23rd – Sunday 27th November
BFI Southbank

Next week sees the return of the pioneering festival – onedotzero_adventures in motion to London’s BFI Southbank, presenting the most exciting international moving image work, from the offbeat to the radical, aiming to push the boundaries of creativity, innovation and technological wonder.

Festival Preview Trailer:

Now in its 15th glorious year, the BFI once again are hosting this years festival. A collaboration which seems to work very well for everyone. The outstanding showcases from onedotzero match perfectly with the installation and screening facilities at the Southbank.

The festival comprises screening programmes + feature film previews, installations, AV events AND innervisions: talks + workshops. Most of the screenings are repeated at different times over the four days so you should be able to find a time suitable. Some events are already fully booked, mainly the workshops but there’s still plenty of to choose from.

Some of you may be familiar with the onedotzero books or DVD’s. They are widely available and if you haven’t checked them out… you should!!

As with previous years, there are certain sections of the festival which have become staples of the onedotzero line-up, j-star, wow + flutter, extended play to name a few.

In addition, after the success of last years Bug vs Ninja Tune XX Music Video Event – the special onedotzero edition of BUG this year is a Bjork special. For anyone who needs an introduction to BUG, you can read a few of our previous reviews – BUG vs Ninja Tune, BUG 25 & Bug: Moby Retrospective.

There are couple of AV Events to check out too – Holotronica and Musicity in particular. See below for more info. This year also includes some very decent looking workshops and talks. Including some discussions about Projection Mapping with the guys from MadMapper software. And last but by no means least are the installations in the foyer areas of the BFI. These are free and run every day – United Visual Artists are presenting a brand new installation which artificially provides the visitor with a personal horizon – always worth seeing what these guys are up to! In the foyer, the fabric of the BFI building becomes part of the onedotzero festival with a series of interactive, moving image installations.

There are many, many highlights this year. Here’s an overview of some of our ones to look out for! As i mentioned above, most of the screenings are repeated on different days, so be sure to check the full line-up on the main website.
