THE FEARWAY DIGITAL REVIEW

A black muscle car steams in the desert. Heat simmering from the hood. Bearing down on another car that putters along. In the driving seat, Frontrowreviews. We are up front and our seats are a little wet. THE FEARWAY is here. Well it is in the digital space. A young couple are on a journey across America. They have embarked on what should be a romantic trip to enjoy the sun and the sand. When a mysterious black car tracks them down, sitting behind them on the road, they are worried. As the situation worsens, they desperately seek help from a small town and then anyone who might be able to help. The problem is, the car and its occupant might not care who dies in its pursuit of the two…

THE FEARWAY is a troupefest, genre solid film that actually deserves a bit more love than it will get. Digital realms often find audiences embracing unexpected gems. They grasp that sometimes the slow burn is key to getting an audience to a film. THE FEARWAY is that sort of film. An under appreciated horror film is a regular event, this is a better than average one. Which is rarer. Tense, uncomfrotable and contained. Director Robert Gajic, oddly enough gets that the film needs to be played on a tone. This is heavily for thrills and though this can be dampened by the heaviness of scripted scenes, but still keeps enough reach to deliver the spills too. The way I would translate it is. this is THE CAR meets JEEPERS CREEPERS in a often fun, sometimes tiring crossover.
