Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Inception, has been an enigma wrapped in a riddle from the word go. Now, as an ingenious viral campaign slowly peels away those compacted layers, the sci-fi flick is building a sustained momentum.
This week, a new poster was revealed, depicting hero Leonardo DiCaprio (and all the rest) standing on a street as it begins to fold in on itself. Of course this is no ordinary street, in fact it’s not technically real; it’s quite literally the stuff of dreams.
In a vein not unlike The Matrix and Dark City, the plot of Inception known thus far concerns agent Dom Cobb (DiCaprio), who has the ability to enter into people’s mind and traipse around their “dreamscape” in order to discover their deepest secrets.
The film, which also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Michael Caine, is due for release on July 16. Until then, savour every drop of information we can get.
