News comes Wednesday via The Hollywood Reporter that the organisers of this year’s Festival de Cannes have announced last-minute additions to the official selection and juries.
The films entering the official selection are The Artist, directed by Michael Hazanavicius – which was previously due to screen out of competition – and Elena, the new film directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev, which will provide the Un Certain Regard category its closing gala on May 21.
Additions to the Un Certain Regard jury, headed by Emir Kusturica, are French actress Elodie Bouchez, Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian, Geoffrey Gilmore (Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises) and Daniela Michel (Director of the Morelia festival in Mexico).
Added to the Bong Joon-Ho-led Camera d’Or jury are French critic Daniele Heymann; Hungarian Eva Vezer, head of Magyar Filmunio; French cinematographer Robert Alazraki; Daniel Colland of FICAM; Alex Masson of the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics; and director Jacques Maillot.
The Cannes festival runs May 11-22.
