Young Hollywood actress Vanessa Hudgens is a far cry away from her Disney-darling days with a new grittier role in the upcoming feature film Gimme Shelter.
The High School Musical star was caught slipping on the style trend and she sported a look far more reminiscent of former flame Zac Efron, on the set of her latest movie.
It appears Hudgens has transformed her image for Ron Krauss’s upcoming drama, where the 22-year-old plays teenager ‘Agnes Apple Bailey’ who is forced to live rough on the streets since falling pregnant.
Gimme Shelter boats a promising cast with both Rosario Dawson (Seven Pounds) and Brendan Fraser (G.I Joe) set to play Hudgens’ on-screen parents. The film sees pregnant Bailey fleeing her abusive mother’s home in search for her biological father, who in turn forces her to have an abortion.
Hudgens took to her Facebook fan page to address her striking new role, and said: “I’m so excited and proud of the work I’ve been doing and let me tell you, you all are going to be SHOCKED with how I look in this movie.”
Production on Gimme Shelter began last month and the film is set for theatrical release next year.
