Halloween feature 50 days, 50 slays! Day 5 FILM SCHOOL DROPOUT DEAD URBAN LEGENDS TRILOGY

If I had to choose, and yes I should have, then I would have put 88 films release of Urban Legends at number one. It is criminally underseen. The first and second parts are amazing and this set has really emphasised the quality of a film, lost to the 90s curse of slash.

5 – URBAN LEGENDS TRILOGY (88 Films)

WHATS IT ABOUT?

We have all heard them. I even think some of us have been there at the creation of one or two of them. URBAN LEGENDS are neither a new phenomena nor original. Those legends about a game of chicken, a murderous creature, a deadly virus. Students love camp fire but when these Legends, see victims murdered using those yarns as a guide, well it scares everyone. Including us. To death! Urban Legends: Final Cut, sees a director at a film school, make a film inspired by the events and create an all new killer hit. Urban Legends: Bloody Mary sees the tension ramped up to schoolish new heights.

WHY SHOULD WE WATCH IT FOR HALLOWEEN?

Well when you want a double header of both silly and surprising horror cinema, you can do no worse than look here at a film series that provides both. The first film is a blend of the set up and pay of of the genres best, the second improves on the original and adds the angle of film and its creation as a device for the legends. Then the third ventures into absurdity, but still makes for fun watching.

WHAT SHOULD WE LOOK OUT FOR?

This release sees the first two films back and available for us to watch as they were meant to be seen! There are great extras and the box art is stunning. What is not to like!?
