Hot and sexy crime thriller set in 80’s New York. We Own the Night tells the story of two brothers on opposite sides of the law that are unwillingly bound together by a set of events that turn their lives upside down and see people around them murdered.
The opening scene of the film introduces us to Bobby Green, a fast talking, successful nightclub owner with a hot puertorican girlfriend played by Eva Mendes. Uknown to those around him, Bobbys family connections lie within the LAPD department, with his brother and father both being senior members of the force. When Greens brother (Mark Wahlberg) recieves a promotion and sets up a task force to go after a local drug baron, Green is put in a compromising situation which leads to unfortunate consequences for both brothers and their families.
A quite cold grey film, We Own the Night is a great film to get right into with a bag of popcorn. Definately the type of film you dont want to be disturbed through and have the lights off to set the atmosphere (not just when eva is on the screen).
