The team behind the Saw films do their best to get us a new film each Halloween. Currently up is volume 6 or VI in the series and before it even released there is much talk of Saw VII being planned for release next Halloween. They love their market… and their market loves them.
In this film, Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the ‘next’ successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. (Its difficult to not get the feeling there will always be a next). However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood.
The editor on all of the previous films, Kevin Greutert, makes his directorial debut with this movie. Due for release on 23rd October, you can expect more of the same that you have seen with previous films… if you’ve liked them before then you can expect this will also satisfy your needs for gore.
