Starring: Simon Pegg, Megan Fox, Kirsten Dunst
A warm, witty and funny film, How to lose friends and alienate people start Simon Pegg, the guy who did exceptionally well in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. The star of the show is Sidney Young, the editor and owner of a cheap small time celeb magazine which isnt worth the paper its printed on. Run from his home with a bunch of friends, Sidney one day recieves a call from Sharpes Magazine offering him a position with them in America, which sees our Brit cross the ocean to land at the door step of the editor that he has just ridiculed within his own magazine brit side.
After a brief introduction into the real world of celebrity gossip and media, Sidney is introduced to his team and a lovely young girl played by Kirsten Dunst, with whom he fonds a bond with. Without giving too much away, this film capitalises beatifully on a young, eager, straightforward brit trying to make his mark on a glossy, corporate, american environment which leads him to re-evaluate his approach and what he wants out of his life.
Although this film didnt do too well at the box office, I think its a very enjoyable film which would work well during an evening with my girlfriend. Except when megan fox is on screen that is, oh dear that may cause trouble….
