And so, we come to the ‘Halloween Special’ episode. I wasn’t looking forward to this episode too much after the poor show with the previous episode.
We are granted a special appearance again from the man i love to hate, Dominic Monaghan. He shows up on a train chatting up some woman with some of the worst chat-up lines you’ve ever heard. Why did anyone think it was a good idea to get him involved in this project? The man has no style… or charisma.
The major event in this episode was when the young boy, Dylon runs away from the hospital and catches a bus to the Benford’s house, repeating the phrase ‘Its my house too’ Which presents us with an interesting scenario in which Olivia, Mark and Lloyd are at the centre of some weird current/future love triangle. The mistrust and doubt between her and current husband Mark are growing ever deeper.
As viewers, were we treated or tricked?… tricked again i’m afraid, into believing that we are getting anywhere with the main plot line in this series. To be honest, thats all thats keeping me interested now. The producers are giving the impression that they expected there to be another 5 seasons of this and that’s why progress is so slow with the overall story. They have very little chance of any further series being commissioned based on recent episodes.
The lightweight characters have nothing about them to make you want to engage with them, i just don’t care what happens to any of them, really. Apart from Demitri… he’s a nice guy, and he’s going to die… or is he?
