Starring : Tom Hardy, Matt King, Kelly Adams

Based on the the true story of the man who was born Michael Peterson. He is the type of man that always wanted to be a famous celebrity but from his own admissions – couldn’t sing and couldn’t dance, what else did that leave?

At the age of 19 he committed a small post office robbery. After being caught for that he was originally sentenced to serve only 7 years in prison. He has now been behind bars for a total of 34 years – 30 of which were in solitary confinement, and thinks of his cell as a hotel room. In which he works out all day, every day and thus is a physical machine.

Over the years he has had a couple of brief spells out of prison but has swiftly returned. Often making his sentences worse by kidnapping prison guards and visitors.

This is an awesome film. The acting from Tom Hardy is Oscar winning stuff, you can see he has really studied Bronson and learned his character inside out. Faultless performance. Hardy is going to become a big name in films and this is one of the early performances in his career where he is going to make that name.

It is a fascinating tale of a man’s life who had a real desire to be known in every household in Britain, he developed the celebrity alter ego ‘Charles Bronson’ after the famous film star who made the film ‘Death Wish’. You can see he absolutely thrives on fighting prison guards and can easily take on 5 or 6 of them.

Many people may think they know about Britain’s most dangerous man but this film really lifts the lid. It is gripping from start to finish.
