Have you ever argued over whether Ripley is better at battling aliens than Captain Scarlet, or wondered if Kryten could be outsmarted by C-3PO? Hero or heroine? Monster or machine? Sci-fi experts, writers, directors and famous fans from across the galaxy are nominating their contenders for the Greatest Sci-Fi Characters of All Time and now the BFI wants your views.

From the heroic adventures of Flash Gordon and the motley crew of Serenity, to the time-travelling journeys of Dr Who and the supermarionation magic of the Thunderbirds, the sci-fi genre is known for introducing us to some of the most original and memorable characters ever seen on screen. To mark the BFI’s SCI-FI: DAYS OF FEAR AND WONDER blockbuster project, presented together with 02, we are on the hunt for the nation’s favourite sci-fi characters. Spanning the worlds of both film and television this face-off puts the power in your hands and offers you the chance to see your favourite character named the Greatest Sci-Fi Character of All Time.

Casting your vote could not be easier. Simply head over to http://www.bfi.org.uk/sci-fi/greatest-sci-fi-characters-all-time and choose your top three sci-fi characters and top three sci-fi films or TV shows to ensure they make the shortlist. The shortlist will be announced later this month, marking the final countdown to SCI-FI: DAYS OF FEAR AND WONDER, a project that will bring forth the largest collection of sci-fi film and television ever presented in the UK, including the release of classic Sci-Fi titles into UK cinemas and on DVD and Blu-ray, over fifty films being made available online through BFI Player and a season of sci-fi film and events held at the BFI Southbank and over 200 venues across the UK

Ollie has written for Front Row Reviews pretty much since its inception about seven years ago whilst still studying Film & Television. Since then, he was trust into the world of independent film distribution and has recently started working with Picturehouse Entertainment in their Marketing Department.
