Universal have announced a sequel to Martin Brest’s 1988 film Midnight Run.

Robert De Niro has announced that he is very excited about the sequel, which is to be helmed by Brett Ratner. De Niro said “Somebody approached me, a young writer and he said, ‘I’m writing a sequel if you want to [read it]’.  And I said, ‘Sure!  Fine.’ So it’s been going through these kind of changes.”

With Tim Dowling of Role Models fame reported to be that writer the jury is very much out on how this revamp of the 80’s buddy movie classic will turn out.
