This Geordie lass’s American dream still lives on…

Since the nation’s sweetheart was so publically (and brutally) de-throned earlier this year by Cowell over her Idol rejection, it seems she’s made quite the comeback by landing herself a movie role alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.

The Daily Mail reports that Cole has been in negotiations to star in the big-budget blockbuster What To Expect When You’re Expecting based on the highly influential ‘bible of American pregnancy’ by Heidi Murkoff.

Cole has reportedly bagged a cameo role quite close to heart, as she is set to play a judge on a television talent show. The film, directed by Kirk Jones, brings together a string of A-List royalty for the star-studded ensemble cast, including Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Rock, Brooklyn Decker and Glee’s very own Matthew Morrison.

While filming already began earlier this summer, Cole is set to shoot her scenes in the upcoming months. Let’s just hope her acting chops prove more successful in the States than her judging ability.

What To Expect When You’re Expecting is expected to hits theatres on May 11 2012.
