Kirsten Dunst may think shes in love with the real spidey but there is a contender living and breathing in the safari lands of Kenya. Meet a Mwanza flat-headed rock agama, a small insect eating lizard which bares an uncanny resemblence to that of the Marvel comics character Spiderman.
According to an article in the Telegraph, Spiderman fans have been rushing out to pet shops in search for the Agamas as home pets. As a pet, Agamas can be kept and trained to be tame, however a lot of equipment is required to create a natural habitat for them.
Interesting looking creatures, male Agamas all turn a dark shade of brown at night, taking off their spidey suit until the next day. If your thinking of buying one think about the money and time it will cost to keep this pet. Advisors say they are not really pets to be handled and so should be left mostly on display in their environments.
We also strongly reccomend you look at taking out pet insurance to protect your Agama Lizard. Petguard offer 4 different types of protection based on your pets needs, which cover vet fees as standard but also EU travel and liability cover if you need it.
