So Xmas and the holiday season are a time of family and friends. They begin just before the big day and then go on past New Years Eve. As this suggests, it is also a time of lots of spare time. A temporal malaise can ensue. Those who love lots of time to unwind might be happy but what of those who don’t? After all the suggestion is that an idol mind, is the devils workshop (so they say). The name sounds intriguing right? It also sounds a little bizarre that a Film, TV, Literature and Board Game website, would now review a video game puzzle but wait a minute dear reader! This is a great Xmas treat for the family. First up you have a 1000 piece puzzle to complete. Beautiful art work, mixes with clever puns and even more skilfully placed in jokes. It’s a difficult puzzle. It will take days to complete (we took a whole day constant puzzling). Like all great puzzles, as sense of euphoria spreads over you on completion but that is where the fun really begins! Now you have 101 video game riddles to find and solve!
This is where all of the series of puzzles from Big Potato excel. They state its a game in a puzzle. It is more. Its the gift that gives again. You start with the build and end with the explore and solve of the completed puzzle. Big Potato puzzles are very fun. From their Movie inspired puzzle, to their rather tricky literature puzzle before this. Clues are sometimes very obvious and at others a little bit of unpacking is needed. Thankfully you get a list to write down and also a website to check your answers. Its not all glory be mind. There is an issue with being able to both see and photo the puzzle board. You get a really useful colour and black and white poster. However it doesnt stand up for long, to constant turning and folding. So I suggest getting a second table or space just for this to stay open.
