Starting off in just a few towns for late night showings this $15,000 movie will keep your eyes half shut while watching on the big screen. Now spread across the globe after online marketing and word of mouth it’s bought in $65million and counting breaking profit records.

The film consists of 3 things; Katie (Katie Featherstone), Micah (Micah Sloat), and the noises they hear at night in their home. To find out what mystifying noises are occurring Micah sets up a video camera while they sleep. The noises get more vivid, Katie gets in danger, and Micah decides to take matters into his own hands only to make the haunting freakier.

What makes it great is there are no obvious special effects involved, yet the director (Oren Peli) manages to get the viewers bore a hole into the screen. You don’t want to look, yet you don’t want to miss the happenings of the night. One thing’s for sure, nightmares are guaranteed! Is the hype worth it – yes!
