I was having a chat with my friends the other day about this and I realised that we hadnt yet shared it with you all. Yes, the crazy, action bound gang of four are back, but this time to the big screen.
Over the last few weeks, news has been going around of those that will be replacing the original cast in the hit tv series, pictured below.
The biggest revelation has been around the casting of Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, to fill in the big boots of BA Barracus (MR T). For those of you that dont know, Jackson is a mixed martial artist who featured in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, body slamming many of his oponents along the way.
Many critics arent convinced by his casting decision as of yet due to his potential inability to ‘own the role’. The thing about MR T was his unavoidable attitude and strong, in your face personality. This along with the inability to fly rounded off MR T’s shaping of the role which made BA Barracus a legendary 80’s icon.
From watching the UFC fights, I think that Jackson has the physique and masculinity, but I would have to agree that I am somewhat unsure of his acting ability and potential to own the role, and more importantly the screen – like the infamous MR T.
The A-team film is set for release on 11th June next year.
