The King of Pop is dead. On Thursday 25th June 2009, Michael Jackson died of a heart attack. A sad day for the music history, we were all reminded of his great successes and string of awards and accolades under his belt. Among this array of fantastic work, was a film, Moonwalker.
One of the earliest films I remember watching as a child, I remember thinking how much of a strange film this really was. Even though it was so strange and it didnt really seem like a “real film”, I was drawn to it becuase of the simple fact that is was Michael Jackson.
My favorite bit of this film has to be when Michael is running from an army of shooters and when he reaches a dead end, he turns into a car. The car resembles a delorian, a well known car from another hit film of the 80’s, Back to the Future. This bit of the fillm was (like much of the film) very surreal, and lent itself well to a childs imagination.
Looking back on it now, I think that the film has its place within the industry, not so much for entertainment, but more so to represent The undeniable King of Pop, Michael Joseph Jackson.
