With a title like that… you know the film is going to be a bit sketchy in terms of plausability. I don’t know why but these sort of films, in the same vein as ‘Snakes on a Plane’ intrigue me. I am normally very critical of cheesy films but i still have the urge to check them out.
There are plenty of film clips and trailers on the net for this and worth having a look at.
The plot is basically this… the government are using some sort of sonic device in the arctic which causes the whales nearby to smash themselves into the ice. Now, after a certain amount of ice has been demolished, set deep into the landscape are the 2 giant creatures in question. They become free and start stalking the ocean.
I expected the CGI to be a lot better than it was, the effects are pretty lame considering the standard we are used to in these modern times.
Needless to say, the acting and script are so bad its hilarious. The aim of watching this film was to be entertained, and i was – but for all the wrong reasons. So really i can recommend it if you want to see how bad a film can be.
There are not enough scenes with the 2 monsters in, but the ones that are, are classic. What other film will you see a shark leaping from the ocean and chowing down on an airliner?
