The Swedish aren’t that well know for putting out great films – but this is most certainly a classic. Its not your typical horror film. Its very much a new approach to the genre blending it with a childhood love story. Its like a fairy-tale in essence.
Oskar is a shy boy who is getting bullied at school for no real reason. He spends most of his time alone and is dreaming of revenge on the bullies. One day a young girl and her father move in next door. From the beginning you can tell that something is a bit odd with them as the father covers up the window as soon as they are through the door. Thats as much as i want to say about the plot. I don’t want to spoil anything about this film. There are some truly great scenes. Especially the ending, the best end i’ve seen to a film in a while.
‘Let The Right One In’ has real class. It tells a horror tale with a real beauty and the whole film feels very melodic… if that makes any sense!
The two main characters Oskar and Eli are fantastic, they fulfill their roles excellently and i expect they will go on to many more successful films in their adult lives.
