Starring: Paddy Considine
Shane Meadows has been earning himself quite a reputation for excellent quality films. Le Donk & Scorz-ayz-ee is his next outing. It is a low budget rockumentary film that they shot in 5 days.
It follows Le Donk (Paddy Considine), a failed musician and in replacement who is now a roadie. With help from the Arctic Monkeys, he sets out to make his friend, rapper, Scorz-ayz-ee a success.
It is a very funny film. Some of the shots could be better but what do you expect when a film is shot in 5 days? Its a real tribute to spontaneous film making and impressive that so much can be accomplished in one standard working week.
Meadows previous work ‘Dead Mans Shoes‘ has to be one of my all time favourite films. It was the first release under Warp Films umbrella. Warp Films have gone from strength to strength and all of their releases have been worth note. Meadows also made the impressive ‘This Is England’. As well as his more recent effort ‘Somers Town’ although critically well received i thought it was well below par. This film however is much better, light hearted and very funny. Well worth checking the local cinema listings and joining Le Donk & Scorz-ayz-ee on their journey of a lifetime.
