The latest film review from frontrow is what is increasingly becoming 2009’s first box office smash hit, GI Joe – The Rise of Cobra. Although this film had been written off by other movie critics (we dont really consider ourselves critics, more just regular film enthusiasts), press releases today are commenting that the film is doing really well in America and that it has already netted over $100m worldwide in the three days since its launch last week. Not bad considering the film is based on an action figure for children…

GI Joe is being heavily compared to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This is becuase the films both have fast paced action scenes which some reviews are saying seem better in GI Joe, purely because Transformers scenes were a little too fast and a little too blurry. Although i havent seen the movie yet, I think that the film ratings for GI Joe will lead me to find myself chomping on my overly expensive box of sweet popcorn whilst watching a supposid action figure jump about the screen.
Have no doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed Transformers, and Ill probably enjoy GI Joe…..
