Its not often i post family film reviews but the new film release of ‘Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs’ is well worth a mention.
This film version is inspired by the book of the same name written in the late 70’s by Judi Barrett. Sony Pictures are the company responsible who have made this adaptation. Trying to get close to Pixar and Dreamworks will be hard but they need to start chipping away somehow.
The story follows inventor Flint Lockwood and the local weathergirl Sam Sparks. They live in the town of Chewandswallow. When there is somewhat of a food shortgage, Flint believes he has finally developed an invention that actually works and hopes to ensure everyone will have ample food from here on in. Obviously its not that simple, something goes wrong and meatballs and burgers falling from the sky has some undesired side effects!
If you have kids… even if you don’t, make sure you check your local cinema listings and get out there to check this one out as these sort of animated movies always look better on the big screen. In my opinion lacks the class that we have come to expect as standard from Pixar but its a very reasonable job and set to do very well for Sony.
