Che Part Two, follows Che as he moves on from the success in Cuba to Bolivia.

After the success of Cuba, there are messages put out to the press that Che has retired and gone into hiding. In fact, he has changed his name and has smuggled himself into Bolivia. Which was decided was the next corrupt government that needed to be overthrown.

In Part One, the belief that was all around the guerilla movement and carried them forward as if they were on a wave. This is just not there in Bolivia, there is too much scepticism. Mainly instilled from the propaganda, which is organised by the US.

Although filmed in the same style, Part Two follows a completely different path. The support Che enjoyed in Cuba was not mirrored in Bolivia. He is now seen as an outsider and the poverty stricken people he’s trying to help can’t understand what he is trying to achieve. Without that support and Che’s incresingly poor health – their efforts are futile.

An excellent film all round. The characters and performances are spot on, quality and professionalism throughout. This film may not suit everybody, it is very political in places and pretty heavy going but if you have any interest in this subject matter – these 2 films are for you.
