Zach Braff has been somewhat off the radar for the last few years, which is surprising considering the success of his directorial debut Garden State. However the actor is set to return to the big screen with a lead role in the upcoming The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. The plot centers around a Henry, widowed architect who is unable to come to terms with his wife’s death. However after meeting a wisecracking young girl, he agrees to help her build a raft to cross the Atlantic in a bid to move on. The film will be Bill Purple’s debut as a Director, after being Second unit director on both Get Him to the Greek and Due Date. Joining Zach Braff will be Jessica Biel and Kick Ass‘s Chloe Moretz who will play Henry’s young friend.
With Scrubs finally put to rest, this is surely Braff’s chance to pursue his film career and hopefully The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea will mark his return.
