World Of Warcraft Film To Be Released

The mystical virtual World of Warcraft is set to enter the real world as it prepares to be released as a film in 2015. The movie is due to drop on the 18th December and has been described as“an epic adventure of world-colliding conflict”.

The writer of the heart stopping Blood Diamond Charles Leavitt will write the film’s script and the movie is to be directed by Duncan Jones. Jones made his debut 2009 directing a film called Moon,a man who suffers an emotional crisis whilst coming to the end of his mission on the Moon.

Despite a fall in players, the World of Warcraft game has 7.7 million users world wide and the franchise is only growing.Since its inception in 1994 the Watercraft Universe has gone on to be a global sensation. The World of Warcraft was the best selling selling PC Game in 2005 and 2006 and holds a staggering 62% of the World’s Online market. It holds the Guinness Book Of Records for the most subscribed MMORPG (Massively multiplier online role-playing game) of all time, and in 2009 was ranked 11th on the list of Game Informer’s “Top 200 Games of All Time”.

The film will be produced by Legendary Pictures, who have invented seat gripping, mind blowing movies such as The Hangover series, The Batman trilogy, Inception, 300 and more.

Filming is set to begin January 2014 and announcements on casting crew have yet to be confirmed. Although according to reports, Colin Farrell has been linked with a role in the film. Universal Pictures will be distributing the movie.
