William and Kate’s TV Movie Countdown

The highly anticipated documentary-film depicting the real-life love affair of Prince William and Kate Middleton is set to air on Monday April 18, 11 days before the couple tie the knot in the most talked about ceremony of the decade.

Movie: William & Kate (2011) will hit the small screen in 11 days time, on America’s Lifetime TV network. The film offers viewers an intimate look into William and Kate’s whirlwind romance and chronicles the obstacles endured through their 10 year courtship, which began at Scotland’s University of St Andrews.

British-born Days of Our Lives actress Camilla Luddington bagged the coveted role of Kate Middleton in the film, while the Prince is played by Law & Order actor Nico Evers-Swindell. These relatively unknown small-screen stars have big shoes to fill but Luddington believes the romance will win over even the most cynical and says “”Lifetime viewers are going to get a great love story.”

In the run-up to the big day, rumours have been swirling that the real April 29 royal wedding ceremony in Westminster Abbey may break the Guinness World Record for attracting the biggest TV audience for a wedding. The record was set by Prince Charles and Diana back in 1981, when more than 750 million people tuned in to watch them tie the knot. We’re hoping for a record-breaking bank holiday!
