The Hurt Locker beats Avatar at this years BAFTA’s

The Hurt Locker has taken the prize for Best Film at this years BAFTA’s, beating the biggest grossing film of all time, Avatar. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker  tells the  dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war in the middle of Iraq.  Kathryn also won Best Director for this film, which captured the chaos and tragedy that war brings to the world.

Collecting the award, Kathryn said ‘I would like to dedicate this to never abandoning the need to find a resolution for peace.’ Kathyn’s ex husband was supposidly cheering her on, seeing that he is no other than James Cameron, the man behind Avatar. If this is anything to go by, the ex couple will also be eager to see who comes out on top at next months American Film Awards, the OSCARS.
