After 4 cyberdinetastic films, the Terminator franchise is up for sale by Hollywood producers Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek. After netting approximately $371 million dollars worldwide (easily covering their costs), the pair have decided to hand the rights over to anyone that can trump up $60 million for the franchise. The alleged reason for sale (According to a report by the LA Times) is that the pair are having to file for bankrupcy (as Halcyon) following a dispute with a hedge fund that helped them buy the franchise back in 2007.
The pairs last production, Terminator Salvation wasnt a great hit, and as many of you didnt really rate it much, you’ll probably (like me) welcome another change of hands just to see who can come up with something better and take the story into another direction. Personally, I think that without Arnie on the film scene anymore, someone new needs to be selected to step into his shoes to take it over as without him, its a loosing battle..
