Rachel Weisz and Jude Law win at whatsonstage theatre awards

Rachel Weisz and Jude Law have won acting awards at this years whatsongstage.com theatre awards, as voted by the general public. Jude Law won for his efforts in Hamlet, while Weisz won for playing Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire.

This is the third time the pair have been up for awards so far this year following the Olivier Awards and the Critiques Circle. The production of Hamlet was particularly succesful in this round of awards as it won the honour for best Shakesperian Production and Sir Patrick Stewart winning the best supporting actor for his role in the play.

The best West End show as voted by whatsongstage readers was Wicked.

Rowan Atkinson and Jodie Prenger both won for their roles in Oliver!, which won in the best musical revival category.
