Mike Leigh and Colin Firth to present films at Film Festival 2010

Mike Leigh and Colin Firth have been announced as presenters of films at this years London Film Festival. Announced yesterday, the festival will celebrate the best films being showcased during the 2 week festival, with an awards ceremony on the 27th October.

This years processions have a particular focus on the production of British films, with ‘Never let me go’ (Mark Romanek) being the opening film and Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours’ closing the festival at the other end. The  Festival will be showcasing 11 world premieres, 197 feature films and 112 shorts  at this year event. Highlights  include ‘The American’ starring George Clooney, and ‘Womb’, a love story starring Matt Smith and Eva Green.

Galas and special screenings include The King’s Speech, starring Colin as King George VI alongside Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter; Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, featuring Natalie Portman, and Mike Leigh’s comedy drama Another Year.
