Kate Beckinsale offered role in ‘Total Recall’

Kate Beckinsale has been offered a role in Sony’s upcoming Total Recall remake, Deadline reports.

The film, starring Colin Farrell in the role of Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1990 original), is to be directed by Len Wiseman, who is married to Beckinsale; before marrying, the pair worked together on Underworld and Underworld Evolutions.

Beckinsale has been touted for the role of Lori, Quaid’s wife, a role portrayed by Sharon Stone in the earlier film. The actress has also been linked to The Trials of Kate McCulloch.

Adapted from the Philip K. Dick story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, Total Recall is due for an August 2012 release.
