Arnold Schwarzenegger has proved that he is as persistent as the ‘Terminator’ itself, as today his participation in the fifth movie has been confirmed. The 63 year old will be joined by Director Justin Lin, who is currently riding off the success of Fast Five, as well as Jumanji producer, Robert Cort. With Arnie’s name attached there are reports that studios including Universal and Sony are now battling over ownership.
This will mark Schwarzenegger’s return to the big screen, after last appearing in 2003’s Terminator: Rise of the Machines. Since then he has held the role of Governor of California, but after recently stepping down he admitted he would like to get his acting career back on track.
The last two outings for the Terminator were met with scathing reviews and average Box Office figures. However with some fresh blood and the return of a familiar face, perhaps the franchise can be resurrected.
