After Ricky Gervais‘s last few disastrous attempts to break into film, he now returns to what he does best, making great television. This month sees the start of the second series of An Idiot Abroad, where they send fellow radio presenter Karl Pilkington across the globe. For those who didn’t catch the first season, Karl is far from a man of the world and is very easily confused. He is then thrust into situations abroad which make him far from comfortable but make for hilarious viewing. The first episode of the second series sees him meeting a tribe devoted to Prince Philip, trying to survive on a deserted island and avoid trying to do a native tribes lethal version of a bungee jump.

The first season was Sky’s highest rating show of the past three years and focused on the Wonders of the World. This season is all about things to do before you die.. Ricky and Stephen said: “When we asked Karl to list his ‘Things before you die’, the only thing he could think of was ‘work in B & Q part time’. So we decided to make a list for him.”

An Idiot Abroad 2: The Bucket List begins on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD from 23rd September 2011.
