After the success of this year’s Sheffield Doc/Fest, it’s set to go on tour across the UK from September to December 2011, exhibiting some of the very best from this year’s festival. The award winning documentaries include The Interrupters, which follows a group of men and women in Chicago, determined to fight the local problems with organized crime. You’ve Been Trumped examines the battle between Donald Trump and Scottish Homeowners, as they try to stop him building a huge golf course in their homeland. Give Up Tomorrow reveals the disturbing truth behind the Philippines justice system and took the Sheffield Doc/Fest audience reward. The Winner of the Sheffield Youth Jury Award, We Are Poets tracks the group Leeds Young Authors as they prepare for the most prestigious poetry slam competition in America.
Locations included on the tour include the BFI Southbank, London; Lighthouse, Poole; Ritzy, Brixton; Hyde Park, Leeds; Cameo, Edinburgh; Tyneside, Newcastle upon Tyne; Harbour Lights, Southampton and Stratford East, London with further destinations to be confirmed.
