To celebrate the opening of Soundscapes at the National Gallery on 8 July, we’re giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets.
Merging Old Master paintings with newly commissioned music and sound, the National Gallery presents Soundscapes, an immersive exhibition inviting you to ‘hear’ the painting and ‘see’ the sound.
The exhibition features new works by composer Nico Muhly, Turner Prize-winning sound artist Susan Philipsz OBE, DJ and producer Jamie xx, Oscar-winning film composer Gabriel Yared, recorder of wildlife and natural phenomena Chris Watson, and renowned installation and sound artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller. Each sound artist and musician has created a unique site-specific composition, inspired by a painting of their choice from the National Gallery’s collection.
