THE PLAYGROUND presents…
AUTOKRATZ- LIVE
BROWN & GAMMON
STENCHMAN (PHILESTINE)
+ MORE
Last Saturday saw the launch of The Playground’s new weekly Saturday night. After a fantastic launch party featuring Danny Howells, they return this week with another stellar lineup.
The Playground joins trap channel TRAPaTRAP on Saturday the 21st September featuring headliners AUTOKRATZ (LIVE), BROWN & GAMMON + STENCHMAN + more when the sun goes down and the horses go to sleep!
AUTOKRATZ’s music journey has been a success since the beginning, with the support of massive acts such as Underworld, The Prodigy and Crystal Castles along with releases on Kitsuné Music and Bad Life. ‘Animal’, released in 2009, has been listed as Mixmag album of the month and ‘Faith’ as DJ Mag tune of the month in 2012. After Wireless and Melt festivals as well a vast amount of touring around the globe, Autokratz live show has now developed into one ofthe most powerful shows on the circuit.
Since their first release back in 2008, things for BROWN & GAMMON have only moved onwards and upwards: with solid support for the likes of Flux Pavillion, Doctor P and Cookie Monsta, the British duo now has a hectic touring schedule worldwide and an ever-growing fanbase. Dancefloor bombs ‘Blow My Mind’ and ‘Be There’ are a perfect example of their epic productions.
Bristol is continually proving to be the breading ground for exceptional producers and beat maker’s, there is no exception here when it comes to Maxx Baer. Playing in many bands at a young age, he has been the catalyst for his exceptional skills behind the buttons in the studio. At the age of 20 he traded his instruments for electronic gear after being introduced to an Erol Alkan mixtape. The pulse resonated so deep that he spent the following summer learning to DJ whilst listening to the likes of Justice, 2ManyDJs and Simian Mobile Disco.
Fast-forward to 2013, over 500 shows playing alongside the likes of Skream, Benga, Zedd, Dillon Francis and Kissy Sellout, Maxx Baer is ready to push his production to the next level. He takes influences from the likes of Baauer, Skream, Bro Safari, Dismantle and Zeds Dead, Joy O, JETS, Machine Drum, XXXY and more.
Early support on the night comes from ANIMAL NOISE who make bruised, battered and beaten acoustic dance music with spanish guitar, bass and drums. Debuting in 2012 with their album ‘Run Loose’ out on Noise Rekords, Animal Noise have been invited 6 Music’s Tom Robinson for a live session on his Saturday night show and also broadcasted on BBC by Huw Stephens as his ‘Song of the week’. Expect acoustic energy jumping from genre to genre, meeting somewhere between Josè Gonzales and Daft Punk.
