Kill the King DVD review

ktk4The king isnt dead, so long live him and his music or at least that is what most of the population wants. Most bar a few fringe crazy people like Jack Blueblood and Karen Bird. They have it that the king must die as he has betrayed all that he was representing. Elvis will truly be leaving the building, the town and the earth if they had their way. Lucky for him however they have both been locked up in an institution and left to get over the respective malaise they find is the problem to their mental processes. When they however fall in love and into a killing spree and escape, the king is going to have to watch out and love his tender a bit less…

ktk1The problems with some of those that make films and have the ability to make films is that they are often unable to see trees, woods or even Ikea furniture. This film is that type of simple misjudged product with the mark of an idea that could be crafted into a good film but ended up being a mess. It has violence and flashes of sexuality that are misplaced but work and then we have the story line that rolls around a bit of history that is well trodden but now turned into a reference frenzy with even the plot taking a nod from the Honeymoon Killers.

ktk2What is funny is that the film is still worth a watch in all its car crash components of the legend of the king and the serial killer constructs. I find it hard to not tell you to watch it for its style, its leads and its voice over that has a certain Mr Reynolds ( a great actor crippled by his own hubris).
