Brace yourself for a juggernaut of Heavy Metal cinema, blazing a trail across the Black Country with an awesome programme of documentaries, rare archive, late-night horror and special guests. This eclectic programme will celebrate some of the genre’s celluloid highlights, from rare television and live footage to cult classics like Heavy Metal Parking Lot and This is Spinal Tap.
Delving into the roots of the music, you can see beautiful footage of the industries that helped shape metal’s sound on the Vintage Mobile Cinema. This beautifully restored picture-palace on wheels was commissioned in the 1960s to tour factories around the country, and throughout Home of Metal it will be visiting locations across the Black Country with a free rolling programme of archive gems.

There will also be ample opportunity to explore the darker side of metal, including a late show of the Boris Karloff chiller that gave Black Sabbath their name, and the music’s enduring global impact will be charted through documentaries, animation and artist’s film as well as some special one-off events.
