OBEY THE CLAY
Time 20 mins max / Number of players 3-7 / Ages 6+
THE GAME
Start with a clay master, they are the person who says what goes (and follows the rule book closely!). The rest get into teams (it works best upto about 3 per team. So the clay master splits the clay between the two teams, settles the timer to be equal and then sets the cards ready to draw. Flip and coin and the you are off! Race to complete your clay-based challenge. From sculpt a noisy creature, animate an object or just go all out madness! The faster you go, the less time the other team has! When one team runs out of clay, the other wins a round. 3 round, wins the game!
REVIEW
I loved OBEY THE CLAY for a family night in or a holiday play. Its very light, joyously silly in places and has a sense of competition that is soft and cuddly. The rounds are rapid, players are encouraged to work together and the clay master (this is were the choice of a good clay master is key) can make games great fun. Now with all this good, there is a little bad. A poor clay master can make the game feel unfair or fall at the last hurdle. However, it was a storming success at home!
